Renovating and decorating period homes is more than just my profession – it’s a lifelong passion that began in earnest in 1994, when I restored my first property: a townhouse in the market town of Ribérac, where I also created an interiors shop. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to preserving the integrity and charm of traditional buildings, while enhancing them with light, colour, and comfort.

At Figue, I specialise in the interior design and decoration of period properties, with a focus on timeless design, sustainability, and thoughtful renovation. Living in the Dordogne countryside, I’m inspired by the natural landscape and local architecture – pale limestone, sun-baked clay, and oak from surrounding forests – which continuously influence my approach to materials, texture, and palette.

I design spaces with a strong emphasis on natural light, flow, and the way a home is lived in. Whether restoring a farmhouse or adapting a townhouse for modern family life, I aim to create interiors that are both practical and peaceful – homes that reflect their owners while honouring their past.

I work with reclaimed and locally sourced materials, and often collaborate with artisans who use traditional techniques to produce everything from wallpapers to bespoke furnishings and tableware. I also use natural paints and finishes, chosen for their subtlety, breathability, and lower environmental impact. I enjoy sourcing reclaimed finishings, from flooring and fireplaces to vintage and antique furniture and textiles. By reusing and repurposing wherever possible, my work helps create homes that are not only interesting and characterful, but also environmentally responsible.

I am committed to helping people create spaces that feel warm, welcoming and uniquely theirs. Sometimes it’s a simple reworking of a small room, other times the careful renovation of an entire house. Whatever the scale, I believe every project deserves care and creativity.
